What happens to my day? I realize that I have been in a cleaning frenzy lately. Of course my hosue looks worse now than it did before I started cleaning as there are piles of stuff to keep, to toss out, to give to Goodwill, well basically the clutter has shifted a little, so my house is still a wreck. But the old me would just sit and stitch and you know ignore the other stuff. These days I'm overcome with a sense of guilt about the piles. Not enough to do anything about them but enough to keep me from touching my needle.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that with the kids going back to school today I'll be able to stitch most of the day tomorrow and Wednesday, even if it's while sitting on top of piles of junk.
I need to stitch, I've kind of lost my mojo.

Instead - and because I don't want to make errors when getting excited at British prospects in rowing, cycling and sailing - I've been hammering at my finishes.
Literally, in some cases - I've made my first floss tags! I got some rivets from my favourite haberdasher - they are 4mm - and in my tool kit was the perfect 'bodger' for that diameter, so I didn't need to make a slit, and it made the finish pretty neat - after I hammered the rivets in! I don't think I've ever that to be so violent with my needlework before... BTW the 'bodger' is a family name for a screwdriver like implement that is basically a pointed screwdriver - should I call it a stiletto?
I've also made a couple of mini pillows, and I'm just taking a break from stitching the backing onto My Favorite Things - which of course, I'm doing by hand, being averse to a sewing machine - and I wouldn't be able to hear the commentary over the noise, either!
I have picked fabrics for a whole slew of pinkeeps from my stash - I'm pleased with how many work well - not always perfectly, but near enough! I'm blessed that I have such resources. They are going to be my weekend projects, but right now I'm off to watch the streaming feed on my computer of the Team Cycling Pursuit - Team GB are in the Gold/Silver race off - Go Team GB!

I'm anxious to see the Fishing Buddies in the picture. Thanks for the motivation to stitch through the chaos:-)
My challenge project is 13th Colony Bay by By the Bay. I think this is the most current pic I have. It's been crazy rainy down here the last four days so I decided to just use a picture from the files. I'm concentrating on Part three which is the right side of the piece looking at the picture.
Between football practice-youngest son and a puppy, my stitching time has been limited. I'm hoping to get serious this weekend and put in some solid stitching hours. I'm trying to get all the housework done so my time is my own all weekend!

I have to deadlines that I've decided to concentrate on. One is the Lizzie*Kate Double Flip-its that I'm stitching for my DS and DIL's 2nd anniversary on 9/23. I'm about 1/2 done. I'll post pictures later, I can't find them on my laptop lol.
What's is everyone else working on?

This is actually "Isabelle's Garden" by L&L that I'm making for our daughter's second birthday in October. This challenge could not have come at a better time, so thank you Melissa for getting us motivated and I hope to be much further along at the end of the Olympics!
I can't wait to see what the rest of you are doing!
This is my marathon project for the Olympics - it's Random Thoughts by Drawn Thread. I've had to take the first couple of days out due to 'injury' - very rough skin on my fingers (due to some DIY) meant that the threads kept catching... I've been knitting instead, and I don't know if that's proved to be lucky for the British team, we've won two golds already - very exciting!

I started stitching this in 1995, and I am determined to have it hanging in my house this Christmas!
